This is the problem with being an IT person.

Today I went into work and the first thing that happened is we were handed a list of people. About 10% of our workforce was layed off today and it was our job to run around and secure computer systems in the unlikely event one of them took it badly and tried to delete company data.

We had to do this covertly until the time was right. I mean, there were no incidents... but it's hard to look co-workers in the fact when you know they are going to get fired in just a few hours.
